Twist of fate....
So with all the talk on ethics and adoption reform -- I have been thinking alot about it and to what extremes we should take to encourage mom's to parent. I have heard it said that unless the child is in danger that parenting is the best option and heard all other views in between. I remember having a conversation one time with someone who is near and dear to me that had a really bad childhood, and they expressed to me that they wished they had been adopted and they felt that their life would have been so much better. I started thinking of this the other day, I know that children that are adopted will grieve the life of the bio family but do children that had a bad childhood grieve or maybe a better word is fantasize about another family that would have treated and respected them better? Is it a case of the grass is always greener? I don't know just something I was thinking about....

Baby Bear is 11 months old!!!

Who started it?
It, being the myth that there are so many babies that need homes. I have heard this 2 times this week from random people. So , o.k. - I bite -- I say really, why do you think so? And usually it is the oh I know so and so that knows these kids that blah, blah, blah, and then as the conversation deepens I realize that they are only open to a healthy white baby. O.K. - for real? Do they really think that there are these "perfect" babies just waiting to be adopted? Is this why I still see the same waiting families year after year? But I really am curious to know how this got started, I think that if you are open to a variety of situations your wait time could be less, but this notion on "waiting babies" just confuses me.

Wardrobe malfunction

Well Kassidy had her first experience in the water today and loved it!!!!!!The only problem is that in just about every picture we had a wardrobe malfunction!!!!! Not to worry the FCC was not outraged and it did not trigger much controversy in our backyard. The blueberry bushes and pear tree may have been a little bit offended but soon forget once they started recieving sprays of cool water. The results from this event was tons of fun for all present!!!!!
*the pic is kinda far away - if you click on it you get a better look of the little beauty queen*

Taking steps!!!!!

Even though the baby bear has been feeling bad lately, she has this fever that keeps coming up --and making her feel icky. Despite that she has been taking about 8 - 10 steps at a time!!!! She is doing so good, and then she will just sit her self down!
However if we make a big deal or heaven forbid grab the video camera she will stop altogether--- so lately I have just kinda been watching and not making a big to-do out of it and she has been doing great!!! Just thought I would share our big milestone with everyone!!!!! And btw -- I think MR. Squirrel has left the building -- I hope anyway!!!!!

Gotta Love Mom!!!!
Well Baby Bear is 10& half months old today, my mom is 67 today and I think I may have a squirrel in my house!!! And guess who came over to help chase away the squirrel?
Yep, that would be my 67 year old mother that came! No, not my husband (he is at work, but really would not have been much help anyway) or either of my brothers which by the way are big guys - one 7 foot and one 6 ft. 5 inches! OR my Dad that told my mom he needed to do a few things first--- nope, it was dear ole' mom and while I watched her with the broom in my laundry room doing her best to poke around and find the critter -- I just smiled teary eyed and thought of so many great times she made sure us kiddos had! You gotta love her -- now really how many people can you call up on zero notice that will rush over to help when you hear something in your house - and take you serious and not laugh, because in her mind that squirrel (or whatever it was) was after her baby (that would be me the youngest of 4)---A mothers love really knows no boundries! Thanks Mom! I love you! and happy birthday!!!
